Malapascua is a small island, about 1.5mi long and .6mi across, located just off the northern tip of the much larger Island of Cebu. This islands is known for being one of the few places on earth where thresher sharks can be viewed regularly. In addition to thresher sharks, dive sites around Malapascua are host to a myriad of other rare underwater creatures, including hammerhead sharks, blue ring octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorses, frogfish and bamboo sharks.
