Kosrae

KOSRAE (kosh-rye)
Like Pohnpei (and unlike anywhere else in Micronesia) have high mountain rain forests whose peaks are often shrouded in a cloud layer. This island is truly beautiful!  If you looking for an out of the way dive holiday where there is a good chance that you & your friends will be the only visitors on the dive boat, or dive site for that matter, this is the place to go.  The water is crystal clear; nearly all dives are a leisurely drift with the boat waiting for you as you surface.
The hard corals here are huge & some of the healthiest you'll find anywhere. The air fare may cost a little more, but that nearly guarantees you won't be fighting the crowds in & out of the water

Sunday activities that we can arrange:
A 2 hour leisurely hike with a guide through the rain-forest to the Menke Ruins.
A 5 to 6 hour hike to Mt.Oma, the islands 2nd highest peak, exploring Japanese WW2 caves that catacomb through the mountain at many different heights.  A side trip can be taken on this hike to refresh under a waterfall.
A 1 1/2 to 2 hour leisurely paddle in a kayak through the mangrove channel at the rear of our hotel.
Snorkeling in the blue hole which is a 250 yard walk out in front of the hotel. Lots of small marine life, some sea anemones, sting rays, huge puffer fish, and the occasional Lion Fish.
Snorkeling in the channel at the airport. Lots of small marine life, the occasional large turtle, small shark, sting rays & eagle ray.

Kosrae Village Resort is constructed in more traditional styling.  Featuring thatched bungalows, ceiling fans and fully equipped for the physically impaired, the Kosrae Village offers separate room and diving rates as well as touring rates which include a multitude of cultural options.  These would include breakfast, airport transfers, snorkeling or daily land tours and other attractions.
