A five-minute flight on a tiny 4-10 seat “island-hopper” will take you from Saipan to the small island of Tinian. This is an easy day trip from Saipan. On the way over you’ll be treated to a great view of the entire island including old airstrips used in WWII that you’ll later be able to explore on the ground. Tinian’s numerous WWII sites include the loading pits where the world’s first and second atomic bombs we’re loaded into planes and the runway where the Enola Gay took off on its historic mission. Be sure to also visit the giant latte stones at the House of Taga, the largest standing lattes in the CNMI.
